Recognizing the need for a sense of community within Asian Pacific American (APA) students in the Indiana University campus, the IU Asian Culture Center is holding a retreat to foster relationships and spread awareness for freshmen and sophomore APA students.

Frequently Asked Questions

 Who is included under the term of Asian Pacific Islander American?                                                                     

This includes those who identify as Americans who are East Asian, Filipino, Pacific Islander, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and/or of mixed heritage that includes an Asian ethnicity.

What type of information do I give under Ethnicity?                                                                                                    

Applicants are required to list a specific ethnic background, such as Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Guamanian, Hawaiian, Hmong, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Samoan, Singaporean, Sri Lankan, Thai, Tongan, Vietnamese, etc. If you are of mixed heritage, please completely list your various backgrounds separated by commas.

When do I need to submit my application? When do I find out if I am selected for the retreat?                          

All applications must be submitted at the Asian Culture Center before Monday, October 4, 2010 in order to be qualified for consideration.
