Rodrigo Penna-Firme is a PhD candidate, working in the Brazilian Atlantic Rain Forest. He is interested in human-environmental relations, the intersection between development and nature conservation and the social costs of the establishment of nature protected areas on ethnic identity and the livelihoods of the rural poor.
