- The 12th Annual Meeting of the African Language Teachers Association (ALTA) is scheduled for April 24-27, 2008 to be held at the Univeristy of Wisconsin-Madison
- A 2-day ACTFL Modified Oral Proficiency Interview (MOPI) workshop was held at Indiana University Bloomington on January 17th and 18th, 2008. The workshop was led by Dr. Karl Otto, Professor Emeritus of the University of Pennsylvania. The workshop was co-sponsored by IU African Studies Program and Department of Second Language Studies’ Intensive English Program. Information on ACTFL workshops is available at http://www.actfl.org.
