Welcome to the website of the African Studies Program at Indiana University-Bloomington.
I invite you to explore our site to learn about an exceptionally strong faculty conducting research on a broad array of topics related to Africa and its peoples. They also offer excellent instruction to both graduate and undergraduate students, many of whom conduct their own research abroad on their way to becoming the next generation of scholars, journalists, librarians and museum curators, advisors to governmental and non-governmental organizations, and other professional positions influencing Africa. Campus resources include rich collections of materials related to Africa in our libraries and museums. The African languages program offers performance-based instruction of numerous languages. Outreach to the community includes programs for a range of interests, from the schoolroom to the boardroom.
Please feel free to contact me, any member of the African Studies Program staff, and our superb faculty with questions you may have.
