Alpha Gamma Delta places a strong emphasis on acheivement in academics. Our chapter is consistantly ranked among the top GPAs of Greek oraganizations, and is currently ranked 4th. Scholarship dinners are held each semester to recognize individual members who have attained high or perfect grades, and it also gives us a chance to meet the faculty of IU since each member can invite a professor. Study tables are from 7-9pm each weeknight, and on Sunday until 10pm. This encourages our women to complete assignments early in the evening and to collaborate with fellow sisters when studying.
|
Awards offered for acheivement in the area of scholarship include Strive for Pi - our initiative for each member to attain a 3.14 or higher GPA, the "Smarty Pants" and "Suck it up" awards for members who had a one time strong achievement or late night of working, studying, or doing homework, and special awards for those acheiving a 4.0 GPA for a semester. These are just some of the ways Alpha Gamma Delta encourages members to do well in their studies. Many members also form study groups to learn from each other and stay motivated. Alpha Gamma Delta prides itself on its high level of scholarship, and we will forever continue to support and encourage members to succeed beyond their expectations.
