Poems

"We've revived a woman this morning."
Their tools were lying in bed with her legs.
Their stitching is becoming her body,
And she's becoming,
Whole.

In a room of metal and not of the womb,
"We're going to make a woman out of you,"
And your body has yet to walk the world,
Has yet to make love,
And before you can speak, you're already accessible.
You've been opened,

And it's easy not to ask, when she can't respond.
And it's easy to take away,
When she doesn't even know what she has.
Your body was their eyes,

But now your body is a part of your story.
And your story
Is more stories, and her story, and his story.
And these stories,
Are fighting their tools, and saving
Our youth.
