AISA-IUB's Mission


The American Indian Student Association (AISA), a student organization at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB), serves:

  • To act as a support group both socially and academically for American Indian students, faculty, and staff. As a result, the organization seeks to increase the graduation rate of American Indian students, as well as to promote their academic success.
  • To increase awareness of the presence of indigenous people of the Americas o and to promote the integrity of native cultures.
  • To extend our services to the general community in order to promote education concerning American Indians in local, state, and national events.

The American Indian Student Association is comprised of a variety of tribal affiliations from various areas of the country including southwest, southeast, midwest, and north We are actively planning many events, which range from social activities to p rominent guest speakers and lecturers on Indian-related topics.

Any student enrolled at Indiana University who is committed towards achieving the same goals under the purpose of this organization is eligible for membership. "Friends of AISA are welcome to attend and participate in group events and activities. AIS A shall not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, creed, color, sex, age, nationality, marital status, disability, or sexual orientation.
