The regular-expressions search-and-replace
dialog allows the user to set up to four search conditions
across the two relevant annotator fields, target
and annotation.
Search specifications can use standard
regular-expression wildcards (*, +, ?) and the "NOT"
checkbox to form queries. In the example the user is
searching for phonemic forms (the target field) that
include the substring wihat but whose morphemes
do not include the dual particle, si-.
Users can also take advantage of character-translation
features built into ATP's support for customized sort
orders and sort weights without using wildcards. In
this case the user has defined a sort order for the
South Band Pawnee project (which may be seen elsewhere
in the ATP tour) in which i-primary, í,
and i-secondary, ì, (upper case and
lower) are weighted the same as upper and lower case
i. As a result the search specified in the
example on this page will return wíhat
as well as wihat.
