The importance of social skills is emphasized with a variety of activities. As a result, a great deal of personal growth and satisfaction is achieved which carries well into the business world. Professional DevelopmentAlpha Kappa Psi prides itself on offering a unique set of professional development opportunities for its members that cannot be found in the classroom. We bring in numerous alumni speakers from corporations all over the country to meet, teach, and network with our members. Alpha Kappa Psi realizes that the most effective learning opportunities come from hands-on experience. We host interactive workshops for the members of Alpha Kappa Psi to work on fundamentals such as resumes, interviewing, and career fair techniques. We also provide our members with opportunities to work on their soft skills through an annual Etiquette dinner and interacting with faculty at our Teach for Excellence wards. We are always actively seeking opportunities to help the community. MembershipMembership operations is one of the major undertakings of Chapter. The Membership committee is primarily responsible for the recruiting, training, and initiation of future members of Chapter. Each semester begins with a rush process, whereby the entire chapter undertakes an enormous marketing effort to attract the best and brightest at the Kelley School of Business (and IU). The rush process culminates in a weekend of interviews. Selection is based primarily upon observed potential to contribute to the organization as a value-adding member. |
