Are you dedicated to helping the nearly 2 billion people around the world who live in slum housing and the over 100 million who are homeless? If so, please attend the Second Annual Alpha Kappa Psi Fundraising Gala for Habitat for Humanity! The gala will be held on Friday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the IU Auditorium. Tickets are free with a student ID! Two representatives from Habitat for Humanity, the organization which has helped over 3 million people around the world to date, and one family Habitat has helped, will be speaking.
As you may be aware, there are more than 96 million people with housing problems in the United States alone. Thirty-two percent of the global population lives in urban slums. Proper housing provides multiple benefits including: stability for families and children, sense of dignity and pride, health, physical safety, security, increase of educational and job prospects. By supporting Alpha Kappa Psi and Habitat for Humanity, we hope that you can be a part of this cause so that fewer people have to live in substandard housing.
The gala will include dinner, music by the local band: Homegrown, and a silent auction with some pretty amazing items. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity. If you are interested in contributing, you can donate any amount online or contact us at the email address below to contribute personal items to our cause. Cocktail dress is preferred at the event, and food will be provided. Tickets are only $10 per ticket for non-students, but any students attending do not require a ticket. Tickets will be available at the door and we accept cash, check, or credit card.
