Randall L. Caldwell is an expert in the field of congenital and acquired heart disease in children and young adults. He is the Director of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He is also the Medical Director of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Program at Riley Children's Hospital and Clarian Health.
Dr. Caldwell received his B.A. from Indiana University in 1968 (Chemistry) and his M.D. from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1971. He joined the faculty of the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1978 and became the Peter Lawrence Phillips Professor of Pediatrics in 1996.
Dr. Caldwell was elected to the Midwest Society of Pediatric
Research and the International Society for Heart Transplantation. He
is a member of the Alpha Chi Sigma Undergraduate Chemistry Honor
Society (IU), as well at the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society
(IU School of Medicine). He serves as a consultant in Pediatric
Cardiology for the Crippled Children's Programs for the states of
Indiana and Illinois. He has been a member of the Academic Standards
Committee for the IU School of Medicine.
