Dr. Ulbright received his A.B from Washington University in St. Louis in 1971 (summa cum laude) and his M.D in 1975 from the Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his training in anatomic pathology at the Washington University Medical Center/Barnes Hospital in 1979 and completed a fellowship in gynecologic pathology in 1980 at St. John's Mercy Medical Center. He joined the faculty of the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1980 as Assistant Professor of Pathology and rose through the academic ranks, becoming Professor of Pathology in 1990. He currently serves as the Director of Anatomic Pathology at the Indiana University Medical Center/Clarian Health Partners.
Dr. Ulbright is an internationally recognized expert in the pathology of
the genitourinary tract, having authored two of the primary diagnostic
resources in this area, both published by the Armed Forces Institute of
Pathology, Tumors of the Testis, Adnexa, Spermatic Cord and Scrotum
and
Tumors of the Prostate Gland, Seminal Vesicles, Male Urethra and
Penis. He
serves as a frequent national diagnostic consultant for lesions of these
sites, and he has given numerous invited talks. He is the author of
numerous papers and book chapters. He currently serves on the editorial
boards of the American Journal of Surgical Pathology, Modern Pathology,
Advances in Anatomic Pathology and the Journal of Urologic
Pathology. He
is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha, the International
Society of Gynecological Pathology, the American Society of Clinical
Pathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and the
International Society of Urologic Pathology.
