    Career Seminar

The Merchandising Education and Research Center, in cooperation with the Apparel Merchandising Organization, sponsors the Annual Career Seminar early in the second semester. This event is an educational opportunity for all students at Indiana University to learn more about retailing careers. Industry professionals at a number of levels, from many major organizations and from all over the country gather to share what they do in their careers. Students attend presentations and have the opportunity to ask questions and network with corporate executives.

One of the best programs the department sponsors is the Career Seminar. It gives students the opportunity to hear about many different companies and gain insight into what any given speaker's job entails on a day-to-day basis. This "real world" perspective is priceless as it is difficult to convey in a classroom. Another great perk of the Career Seminar allows for savvy students to do a bit of networking, which can be very beneficial when it comes time to begin interviewing for internships or permanent positions.
