The following is a list of equipment currently available for use in the CISAB lab. Some portable equipment can be borrowed for fieldwork. When equipment is in high demand, you may be required to sign up ahead of time for use.
General:
- Fume and laminar flow hoods
- Electronic balance
- Dry heating block
- Water baths (standard & shaking)
- Vortexers
- Magnetic hotplate
- -20°C and -80°C freezers
- pH meter
- Microwave oven
- Microcentrifuges (including portable and temp-controlled)
- Regular, multichannel and repeater pipettes
Molecular/Genetic:
- Eppendorf Mastercycler thermocyclers (standard and gradient)
- Vertical and Horizontal gel electrophoresis rigs
- UV transilluminator with camera
- Genetic analysis software (including Oligo and GeneMapper)
- Access to genotyping and sequencing equipment at the Indiana Molecular Biology Institute in Simon Hall
- Access to a spectrophotometer and more at the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics in Myers Hall
Endocrine:
- Evap-o-rac for drying down extracted samples
- Vacuum manifold for solid phase extraction
- Access to BioRad plate reader and plate washer for enzyme immunoassays
