Research Interests:
field linguistics, Eastern Woodlands areal features, Cherokee
Over the course of my undergraduate studies in cultural anthropology I became more and more interested in both the structure and meaning of language. I also began to want to understand linguists commonly referenced in the cultural anthropology literature (such as Saussure and Chomsky) in their own words. I hope to carry out my dissertation work in my home community of Cherokee, North Carolina.
