Possible Job Links
This page is for all students whose parents ever asked, "What kind of job can you get with a degree in Anthropology?" However, it only has links to web pages which may offer job opportunities. The best way to find more stable job possibilites is to get to know your teachers well, and ask them if they know of anyone who may be looking for help with research projects or other such things. In addition to this, Britta Grieshaber, the Undergraduates Anthropology Advisor, (e-mail: bgriesha@indiana.edu) will probably have resources for you to use as well. I suggest you check them all, because, contrary to parental belief, jobs in anthropology do exist.
- Shovelbums
ShovelBums is a website posting both information on jobs and news in archaeology. You can sign up for the mailing list, which will update you almost daily on possible jobs in archaeology. It is advised that you at least have some experience in fieldwork before signing up for the mail list, because almost all positions offered here require a minimal amount of field experience.
- Jobs in Archaeology
This page is a cover-all page. It has links to university jobs, government jobs, museums jobs, CRM and a few other things. It would pay just to spend a little time on this page, even if your not sure what kind of job you want- you may get an idea here.
- Northern Kentucky University's Anthropology Career Page
You'll have to spend a lot of time here, because not only are there links AND mailing addresses, there is also a great deal of advise on this page. It includes where to look for a job, how to look for a job, resume tips and many other things. Aside from just having jobs in archaeology, like many other pages on the web, this includes most of the four subfields.
