Academic Background

 

Dr. Dodge is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Applied Health Science and Associate Director of the Center for Sexual Health Promotion. He received his Ph.D. in Health Behavior (with minors in Human Sexuality and Dutch) from Indiana University in 2002. He completed his postdoctoral training in the NIMH-funded Behavioral Sciences Research in HIV Infection Fellowship in the HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies at the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and the New York State Psychiatric Institute. He then served as an Assistant Professor in the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida for two years. A proud alumnus, he re-joined the faculty of Indiana University in 2007.

 

Research Agenda

 

Dr. Dodge’s research and training have focused on various social and behavioral aspects of sexual health in relation to HIV/STI and other facets of overall well-being. Current areas of interest include bisexuality and its potential relationships to risk, sexuality education in public schools, and the ongoing role of male condoms in sexual health promotion.
