Masters of Public Health Association

at Indiana University

Introduction

The Masters of Public Health Association (MPHA) was established in 1996, with the assistance of Dr. Thomas Tai-Seale. The purpose of this organization is to provide students with the opportunity to play a role in the evaluation, policy-setting, and decision-making procedures for the Master of Public Health program at Indiana University. Additionally, MPHA members participate in philanthropic activities on campus and in the surrounding Bloomington community.

Our current goal is to become more involved in campus activities and philanthropic events related to health education. Past activities include raising money for the Hoosier Hills Food Bank and the Susan B. Anthony Breast Cancer Foundation. MPHA also created and presented a booth at the I.U. Health Fair and helped plan, implement, and evaluate the Ruth Lilly Health Education Project. The Ruth Lilly Project allowed us to help Girl Scouts from Indianapolis earn badges related to health topics in a fun and interactive environment.

MPHA hopes to continue these projects in the future, as well as begin new projects.
