Order of Operations for Team #2 1. Watch The Tuskegee Airmen, a commercial movie. The video is available in the Stockwell Library video collection. 2. Go to the Local History Room of the Albion Public Library. Ask the librarian there how you could find out the names of Albion's Tuskegee airmen. Ask her how to find out biographical information about them. 3. Call the Reverend Barbara Gladney. Arrange a meeting to ask her which of the names on your list are alive and well and might be willing to talk to you about their experiences as Tuskegee airmen. Ask her if she knows of anyone you missed. 4. Develop an interview protocol. This should include: •An explanation to your informant of why you have asked to speak with him/her and what the information that he/she gives you will be used for. •Some questions that everyone on your team will be asking; for example, "How did you hear about the pilot training program?" "What did you do to enter the program?" etc. •Some open-ended exchanges. Be prepared to follow the lead of your informant in terms of what he/she thinks is important to talk about. |
