BCAP 2002 Field School Rules Grades for the field school will be based on performance in excavation, survey, laboratory, two projects, and a practical exam. Performance evaluation will be based not only on knowledge and demonstration of the skills involved in the methodology, but on teamwork and attitude. Field schools are unique learning experiences. We will all be living and working together for approximately five weeks: teamwork and attitude can make or break everyones experience. Rules and Regulations 1) No smoking on the site or at the ranch structure. You may smoke in the yard adjacent to the ranch house provided we do not have a problem with disposal of butts. 2) No illegal activities. This includes such things as underage drinking, drug use, etc. Breaking the law is grounds for immediate dismissal from the class. 3) There is a 10 p.m. curfew on noise, and it will be enforced. Please move noise to the airplane hanger after 10. 4) This is not a dry camp. However, should you choose to bring alcohol, DO NOT BRING BOTTLES. Only beverage cans are allowed. This includes beer, liquor, wine, juice, etc. 5) No drinking alcohol before 6 p.m. 6) This should seem obvious, but NO PERSONAL ARTIFACT COLLECTION of any kind. This activity is not only unethical, but since this is federal land, it is also illegal. 7) Anyone using the kitchen utensils or dishes between meals must clean up after themselves. 8) Visitors are limited to two evenings and will be responsible for their own meals, lodging, etc. 9) No fireworks. 10) Personal vehicles are allowed on the project, but not at the site. 11) The ranch house, stud barn, and stone house are public property. 12) No one is to leave the lab (and dinner will not be served) until everyone is finished with lab work. 13) Swimming should be done in pairs. 14) Do not exceed 25 mph on the roads within the canyon and 5 mph around the ranch houses. 15) No eating on the excavation. 16) After dinner is your time 17) Weekends are your time. |
