The USDA Forest Service has decided to accept Wang
et al.'s recommendations to integrate heritage and ecosystems management.
You have been invited to be part of the team managing the use of the
Mount Hood National Forest (MHNF).
1. What kind of research would you do to help come up with a management plan?
2. Who are the different stakeholders (i.e., who has an interest in how the MHNF is used?), and how might their perspectives on land use differ? What are potential conflicts, and how might they be resolved?
3. What can you, as an archaeologist/anthropologist, do to encourage grassroots participation and public awareness of conservation at the MHNF?
