Presentation 2 Guidelines The goal of this assignment is to provide practice in the formal presentation
of archaeological research. 2. Handouts, overheads (e.g., maps), or other visual aids should be used. 3. Presentations should run between 12 and 14 minutes. 4. In order to do all of the above, you will need to practice your presentation to ensure that it runs smoothly and falls within the time limits.
You will be graded on: 1. Grasp of the material and preparation (presentations should NOT be read, though you can refer to notes). 2. Effective use of visuals. 3. Clarity and organization of your proposal and the strength of your argument. Do you clearly explain why your research questions are interesting and worth addressing? Are there clear links between your questions, methods, and interpretation of possible outcomes? 4. Style of presentation (speak in a clear voice, engage the audience,
watch your pace [not too fast or slow], stick to the time allotted,
make eye contact). |
