Possible Topics for Campus Landscape Exhibit Panels

1. Overview of the history of the landscape
2. Neighborhood churches (or a focus on a particular church)
3. Architectural styles of the neighborhood residences
4. History of a specific property or area of the neighborhood
1. Wishard
2. Isaac Wilson and Samuel Patterson mill
3. Ball Nurses Garden
4. Beauty Street
5. Mary Cable School
6. Crispus Attucks School
7. Ransom Place neighborhood (possible focus on the preservation efforts of Jean Spears)
5. History of water in the neighborhood (floods, water engineering, filling of the flood plane, current sewer issues, etc.)
6. Changing ethnicity/demographics
7. Vernacular gardens/yardscapes
8. Riots (1876)
9. Corner stores
10. Archaeological study (possibly multiple panels each focusing on a different dig or a different aspect of the material culture recovered)
11. Lot history and research design for 2003 excavation (panel could be used to support public program at the site)
12. Establishment of the University

In addition to the topics listed above, you may propose a topic but it MUST be approved prior to embarking on the project.
