Student Exercise 7: Heritage Management
Describe to the class a typical kind of significant archaeological site being destroyed by unregulated development somewhere in South America and see if students can find out which public and private agencies in different countries may be able to help prevent destruction. What are the laws of different South American countries? Are they available readily on the internet? Students may need working knowledge of Spanish, Portugese, etc. to do this assignment. Read results and compare in class.
