The Aron group works on developing cost-effective and environmentally friendly methods for the synthesis of complex molecules through a combination of directed biosynthesis and biomimetic catalysis. Using a combination of mechanistic enzymology, enzyme engineering, organometallic method development, and total synthesis, we are creating new methods for generating antibiotics, anticancer agents and immunosuppressants (among many others).
