Indiana University Bloomington

Congratulations to Ping and Mani! (4/2012)

Their manuscript titled "Catalytic alpha-Allylation of Unprotected Amino Acid Esters" has just been accepted for publication at Organic Letters!

Congratulation to Sebastian (3/2012)

Sebastian will be leaving us for Memphis, TN where he begins his career at Dow.

Welcome Adam and Tim (1/2012)

Adam and Tim are both joining the group as undergraduate researchers, we look forward to many semesters of enjoying their presence!

Welcome Rachel Lecker (11/2011)

Rachel joins the lab as a C500 studient from the University of Nevada, Reno where here work with N-Heterocyclic Carbenes will serve her well.

Congratulations to John! (9/2011)

His manuscript titled "Efficient, Single-Step Access to Imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine N-Heterocyclic Carbene Precursors" is now in press (Org. Lett. 2011, 13, 5256-5259)

Congratulations to John! (1/2011)

John has passed his advancement to candidacy exam, and is well on the road to his Ph.D.

Congratulations to Mani! (1/2011)

Having finished up his postdoctoral studies with us, Dr. Mani Chaulagain is on to the greener pastures of Evansville, IN where he begins his career at Sabic Innovative Plastics.

Welcome Dr. Ping Fang (2/2011)

Dr. Fang joins us from the group of Professor Haibo Ge at IUPUI where she was highly successful in her studies of palladium-mediated decarboxylative coupling reactions.

The Aron group works on developing cost-effective, environmentally friendly and enabling methods for the synthesis of complex molecules.Targets include constrained peptides for use in immunosupression and metabolic adjustment in clinical settings, fluorogenic sensors aimed at identifying ion distribution and movement in cellular systems, and carbene-based organometallic ligands useful for a variety of catalytic processes of signficance in bulk commodity and fine chemical production.
