| Adinkra
Printing
Adinkra Cloth is a highly valued, hand-printed textile originating with the Asante and Gyaman people of West Africa. First, the M333 students inventoried their personality traits and characteristics. After studying and comparing the traditional Adinkra symbols and their meanings, the students created stamps and hand-printed their personal “stories”. In the tradition of the funerary clothes, the individual designs are woven together using Kente Clothe strips. The accompanying image represents
our communal story.
