In January 2012, Associate Professor Robert Terrill delivered the keynote speech at the Midwest Winter Workshop, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The talk was titled: "The Civic Engagement of Barack Obama." Later in the spring he presented a talk at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, titled: "A Bridge too Far? Barack Obama and the Memory of the Civil Rights Movement."
