History graduate students present papers

Graduate students Brendan Gillis and Stephanie Koscak presented papers at the Midwestern Conference on British Studies in Terre Haute, Indiana, November 6-8, 2011. Brendan's paper was titled "'The Power of Checking Evil': Justices' Handbooks and the Emergence of the Magisterial State, 1714-1790," and Stephanie's paper was titled "Suffering Divine-Right Authority: Image, Print, and the Public Sphere in Mid-17th Century England."
