Brief Academic Bio: Awny Alnusair is an Assistant Professor of Applied Computing at Indiana University, Kokomo. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, a M.S in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology, and a B.S in Computer Science from Yarmouk University.
My research areas include program comprehension, software reuse, information retrieval, programming languages, and the semantic web. Currently, I am researching Semantic Web theories and ontology formalisms and their role in improving current software development practices. Read more...
I enjoy teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. During my past appointments as a lecturer at Northwestern University and a senior fellow at Robert Morris University, I taught courses on different topics of computer science including object-oriented software development, software engineering, Web programming and design, and database design and administration. At Indiana University, I have a joint appointment where I teach HCI, informatics, and programming languages in the Informatics program and Web design and development in the the New Media program.
