Message from The Colonel
Director of Athletic Bands - David C. Woodley
Greetings (almost) from the sun valley of Phoenix, Arizona!
The Marching Hundred staff and I have been busy preparing for our first bowl game in 14 years and we can't wait to get out West for the Insight Bowl.
The band will be traveling out on 2 airplanes on Saturday, and will return to Bloomington on Jan 2 - very early in the morning.
The band will be practicing on the 30th at Tempe High School and will attend a large Big Red Warmup Pep Rally on the day of the game in Tempe Beach Park.
We have been given 5 minutes to perform at pregame and 7 minutes at halftime - you can see details of our shows and our trip online.
We want to thank all of the parents and fans for supporting the Hundred this past season.
The Sudler Trophy, the opening night performance of the NFL season with the Colts, and a huge Old Oaken Bucket win vs. Purdue are some of the highlights we remember from the fall.
As always, we want to show a great amount of thanks and congrats to our Tailgate Gang, who once again outdid themselves week after week during the fall.
I hope you will be able to attend some of the Insight Bowl festivities.
For those of you who are unable to come to Tempe, please enjoy our game on the NFL Network, and then look to your Hundred newsletter next August for a preview of the 2008 season!
Attention Hundred Members!
If you will be taking video footage from your experience behind-the-scenes at the Insight Bowl, it may be just what we are looking for!
IU's first bowl game appearance in 14 years is a perfect end to the Sudler Video, celebrating Marching Hundred History.
If interested, contact Laura Peters when you return from the Insight Bowl for information about submitting your footage for consideration.
Have a great trip and Go Hoosiers!
