Message from The Colonel - October 30, 2008
Director of Athletic Bands - David C. Woodley
Greetings from Bloomington!
As our season winds down, we have four performances left - two home games this weekend
and November 8, our annual Showcase Concert at Assembly Hall, Nov. 12 and
our year-end Bucket Game at Purdue (11/22). The Hundred has done a
remarkable job this year, putting together 8 different halftime shows and
hitting the road for games in Indianapolis, Champaign and Chicago. Spirit
is very high, and with a big win last week vs. #24 Northwestern, we
look forward to the chance to support our football Hoosiers three more times
this year.
The halftime show this week will feature music from the popular "Guitar
Hero" video game, along with a special videoboard feature. Coaches Crean
and Jack are the "stars" of the show, and other coaches and IU celebrities
will be featured in a closing video. This should be a very entertaining
show and we hope you can make it this Saturday.
All year long, we have been very appreciative of our tailgate gang - each
and every week presenting the Hundred with a wonderful spread of food and
drink before the game starts. We cannot thank them enough for all they do
for the band. A special "shout-out" goes to the folks at KRC Banquets and Catering
who have donated food for the band. We appreciate their continued support of the
Hundred and thank them again for a wonderful spread at the Hundred
Tailgate. Special thanks also to those who have made donations to feed the Hundred!
I hope you have a great weekend and are able to make it to Bloomington to
watch the Hundred and support our football Hoosiers!!
