Message from The Colonel - November 6, 2008
Director of Athletic Bands - David C. Woodley
Greetings from Bloomington!
The Marching Hundred heads into the final week of the home football season with our last home game vs. Wisconsin.
Saturday's kickoff is noon (Big Ten Network) - the concert at the Walk will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Our halftime show will consist of some favorites from this season - "I'm a Believer" from the Homecoming Show (Pam Holt drill and arrangement) and Stars and Stripes from the Ball State show.
In addition to these songs, we'll be honoring the memory of Jessica Ruiz, a 1st year piccolo player who passed away last summer in an automobile accident.
One of her favorite tunes was the theme from "Footloose" - we'll be playing that at halftime.
We welcome Jessica's family to The Rock and hope they enjoy their day in Bloomington.
Our annual Band Showcase concert will be held Wednesday night, November 12 in the Assembly Hall.
Start time is 7:30 p.m. - tickets are available at the door.
This will be our yearly chance to perform hits from the season in a nice, weather-controlled environment!!
We hope you can join us for the event.
As we close our home schedule, we want to thank all of you for your continued support of the Hundred.
Our tailgate gang has done an incredible job this year, and we thank them for their weekly feast before game time.
To all who have supported us this season, we say "thank you" and hope to see you next year with the 2009 version of the Marching Hundred!
