Message from The Colonel
Director of Athletic Bands - David C. Woodley
Greetings from Bloomington!
It's been a very rainy week, but your 2009 Indiana University Marching Hundred is preparing for Homecoming 2009! We'll welcome back over 200 Hundred alums this weekend as our Hoosiers take on the Fighting Illini in a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
You'll have two chances to see and hear the Alumni Band this week - at pre-game, the alumni band performs two selections during the pre-game festivities, and then joins the Hundred at the end of their halftime show.
This week's halftime show is music from Las Vegas, arranged by Graduate Student Kyle Glaser. We start the show with "Viva Las Vegas" and then transition into "She's a Lady" as our RedStepper feature. We welcome the alumni band in our traditional homecoming closer, Sing Sing Sing.
Continued "thanks" to our tailgate gang for their outstanding work in keeping the Hundred fed. We are the only band I know of that has such a dedicated group of parents and volunteers!
Two reminders:
1) Hundred Gear is available online NOW: www.marchinghundredgear.com and at home football games this season - look for the table just inside the big garage door of the Fieldhouse 2 hours prior to kick each home game
2) The annual Band Showcase concert will be held Wednesday night, October 28 at the historic Assembly Hall - the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are just $2.00 for adults over 18 and $1.00 for students. Concessions will be available, along with photos from the season AND Hundred Gear.
We hope you'll have the opportunity to join us this year for a home football game at The Rock. We thank you for your continued support of the Hundred!!
