Message from The Colonel
Director of Athletic Bands - David C. Woodley
Dear Hundred Fan,
Band Camp '06 ended with a Bang! The Tenor Saxophones, Baritones and Piccolos
were awarded the coveted "Section Competition" trophy on Saturday night at the
Mellencamp Pavillion. Along with the trophy goes bragging rights for the entire
year! The first few days of classes have been very busy as the Hundred learns both pre-game and
half-time drill in preparation for the first home game. This weekend, the Western Michigan
Band will be in attendance - we look forward to hosting them and watching
their pre-game and half-time shows on the Memorial Stadium turf.
Don't miss the Hundred this Saturday beginning with "The Walk" starting at 3:50 p.m.
followed by a short concert in front of the East stadium main entry. The band leaves
the Fieldhouse at 5:20 for the March to the Stadium. We thank you for your continued
support of the Hundred and welcome you to every event we have this fall. Thanks for
subscribing to Hundred News and we'll see you this Saturday for game day at THE ROCK!!!

Tau Beta Sigma
Tau Beta Sigma (TBS) serves IU bands through services such as uniform issue, concert receptions, power
lunches (lunches for Hundred members on game days), and wake-up calls. We have also expanded our services
to the Bloomington community. One of our most recent projects included providing music lessons to children
at a women's shelter. We are excited to continue serving this year. See you at the games!

Undergraduate Staff perform in IU Football Pep Rally
Undergraduate staff members of the Marching Hundred performed on Monument Circle in Downtown Indianapolis on
Thursday, Aug. 24th as part of IU Football's "Paint the Town Crimson" pep rally. "The campus is hopping right now,
the students are back, and Sept. 2, we're going to cut it loose. The coaches are excited, the cheerleaders are
excited, the band is excited, but most importantly the players are excited," Coach Terry Hoeppner told fans
who who gathered for the rally. Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson declared the day "Indiana University Football Day."
