Message from The Colonel
Director of Athletic Bands - David C. Woodley
Dear Hundred Fan,
After one of the biggest wins in IU football history, the Marching Hundred and the
football Hoosiers take their 2-game winning streak on the road to Columbus as we
face the No. 1 rated Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday. Please catch the action at
10:00 a.m. in St. John's Arena as both bands take part in the weekly Skull Session.
Kickoff is set for noon on Saturday. The Hundred's halftime show will feature
trumpeter Joey Tartell and the music of the Temptations.
On Friday night, October 20, the Hundred will stop at Shelbyville High School
and perform for a sectional football crowd. We look forward to seeing band
director Russ Smith and all of the great fans in Shelbyville!
To round out the weekend, the Hundred will be the featured halftime group at the
Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Redskins game in Indy. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m.
Although we look forward to seeing former Hoosier Antwaan Randle-El, now playing for
the Washington Redskins, it will be difficult to cheer against our Colts!
Have a great week - I hope to see many of you in Shelbyville, Columbus and Indy
this weekend!
Return to Bloomington for Homecoming Next Weekend!
Next week is Homecoming at Indiana University and Coach Terry Hoeppner is calling all
Hoosier fans to fill Memorial Stadium:
"I'm challenging the Hoosier Nation to
pack 'The Rock' with 50,000 screaming fans when we play Michigan State. We want you to celebrate Homecoming and help us earn
another victory. Our fans have played a huge role in our progress this season.
We have come a long way, but we have a ways to go. It's always a lot more fun to
have the fans with us on our journey to Play 13." - Terry Hoeppner
Homecoming festivities include the 48th annual parade on Friday night 5:30 p.m.,
East Third St. and Indiana Ave and ending at the Sample Gates with a pep rally at 6:30.
Watch and read more about
Homecoming 2006 "Glory Days: Hoosiers Past and Present" from the IU Alumni
Association and plan to join the Marching Hundred as we cheer the Football Hoosiers
on to victory against Michigan State!
