In operation since 1935, Fox Filmed Entertainment is primarily engaged in the financing, development, production, distribution and marketing of motion pictures, television and home entertainment programming throughout the world. In the motion picture arena, FFE is composed of four film divisions: Twentieth Century Fox, Fox 2000 Pictures, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Fox Animation Studios. Brief History:
Universal's rich entertainment legacy can be traced back more than 90
years to 1912, when pioneer filmmaker Carl Laemmle, an immigrant from
Bavaria, founded the Chicago-based Universal Film Manufacturing Co. Three
years later, Laemmle moved his company to Los Angeles and on March 15,
1915 officially opened the gates of Universal City on a 230-acre ranch.
While producing a steady stream of silent films -- including Westerns,
comedies and action-adventures -- Laemmle invited visitors to the property
to observe, thus establishing Universal's long-standing tradition of welcoming
guests to enjoy the behind-the-scenes magic of movie-making. Over the
years, Universal Pictures grew into a full-fledged movie studio and became
