Note: BEST QuizSite and Post’Em are legacy applications and are due to be discontinued as of July 1st 2013. No further development will be done on these programs and we can offer only limited support. Instructors are instead encouraged to use the Oncourse counterparts: The Oncourse Test & Survey Tool and the Oncourse version of Post’Em.
QuizSite
QuizSite, a tool developed by BEST, allows instructors to create and deliver
homework, quizzes, exams, minute papers, or course evaluations via the World
Wide Web. Scoring and immediate feedback can be provided to both instructor
and students (except for essay-type items). Items can be created in standard
formats such as multiple-choice, fill-in, and essay, and they can incorporate
images.
To create a QuizSite activity, an instructor uploads a class roster, a
set of questions with appropriate tags to tell the program how to display
them, and an activity setting file that specifies how the activity is to
be administered. Faculty users have reported that QuizSite is an excellent
way to keep students engaged with coursework outside of class time.

Post’Em
Post’Em is a BEST-created tool for posting student grades on the
Web. Faculty maintain course grades on their own workstations, then periodically
upload a specially formatted ASCII file containing student usernames and
scores or grades. Grades are then available to students at any time and
place they have Web access. To insure that students can view only their
own grades, they must use their IU network ID to access the system.
