QuizSite On-line Course Evaluations
How do I handle on-line course evaluations for my department?
The following instructions assume that BEST must set up the course account.
For newer instructions that allow departmental secretaries to create and
manage the account without needing to contact BEST,
see Departmental Course Evaluations.
- Instructors can choose their questions at any time during the semester,
but preferably about two weeks before the evaluations are conducted.
They should go to the BEST web site (www.indiana.edu/~best)
and select
-> Course Evaluations under the
BEST Services heading
-> Click on the phrase that reads "Custom
on-line evaluation"
When they do, it creates a file named instructor_course_section_date.
- They should inform you that they have submitted it (instructors,
courses, and possibly sections and dates).
(The program does not e-mail any confirmation.)
- You send us a list of list this information about evaluation requests
that have been submitted.
(It is generally easier for you to mail us a
group of evaluations instead of one at a time.)
- We find the relevant files and process them.
- We add your name as an associate instructor to each evaluation account.
- We send you a list of the evaluations we set up.
- You upload the rosters and set the activity dates.
- You inform the instructors that the evaluations are ready.
- The instructors conduct the evaluations.
- Students log in and complete the evaluations either by clicking a link on
the instructor's course web page or by going to the BEST web site (http://www.indiana.edu/~best)
and clicking
QuizSite Students.
- You log in to QuizSite as an AI for the course.
- You monitor the activity and report any problems to us.
- You display, print or save, and distribute or e-mail the report
results to instructors.
