The Power of One: Commitment, Challenge, and Change

Citizen King (2004) - This film explores the last five years of Dr. King's life. It traces his efforts to re-cast himself beyond the Civil Rights Movement by becoming a champion of the poor and an outspoken opponent of the war in Viet Nam. Using rich archival footage, this film brings fresh insights to King's impossible journey, his charismatic leadership, and his remarkable impact. 115 min.

The Black Film Center/Archive will be presenting this film in conjunction with the Indiana University Bloomington campus' Martin Luther King Day Celebration.

When: Wednesday, January 11, 2006. 7:00 pm at the Whittenberger Auditorium (room 151) in the IMU.

Cost: Free and open to the public.
