X211 - Screenwriting and Producing Workshop

Description: This intensive five-day workshop will be led by legendary filmmaker, Melvin Van Peebles. The focus of the workshop will be on the craft of writing and refining screenplays, and the techniques and strategies for producing original scripts. The workshop will examine these processes from inception through drafts, with an emphasis on writing and analyzing scripts for different formats such as television and film.
Mr. Van Peebles will draw upon his experience as a writer, actor, producer, and cinematographer, to lead this interactive and highly participatory workshop.
LIMITED ENROLLMENT
Note: Register during regular registration period. Students will be notified of their acceptance by email.
Prerequisite: a draft of a manuscript, ten pages maximum or an extensively notated outline.

The workshop will meet daily from 4-6:30 pm, Monday, January 27 through Friday, February 1, 2002.
Monday through Thursday, Ballantine Hall 317 and Friday, Fine Arts 015.
