Blatchley Nature Study Club Scholarship
Melissa Burger, 2012 - 2013 Blatchley Scholar
Melissa Burger is earning a B.S. in Biology and a Certificate in Animal Behavior. She has been a member of Lynda Delph’s research team since 2009. Melissa works with graduate student Dean Castillo on C. remanei and with Laura Weingartner on the flowering plant, Silene latifolia. Melissa used her scholarship to help fund summer fieldwork in Spain. Previously, she did research on Onthaphagus taurus, the dung beetle, in Armin Moczek’s lab. Melissa is an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Amy Berndtson’s L112 Biological Mechanisms course. After graduation, she plans to go on to graduate work in evolution, ecology and behavior.
