Sears Crowell Scholarship

This scholarship was established in the 1980s to honor Professor Emeritus P. Sears Crowell, Jr. The scholarship allows a student to attend a marine lab or field station, approved by the Department of Biology.


Any graduate student, junior, or senior with a major from the IUB Department of Biology.


Available to students enrolling in an internship program or course at a marine lab or field station.


$2,500.  Amount varies based on income accrual in this account.

Special Application Materials:

Submit all materials listed on the application instructions, plus a statement detailing: your career goals, how the summer marine lab or field station experience will help you achieve those goals, and all expenses involved in this experience.

A letter of support must be submitted by a faculty member.
