Rex Grossman Scholarship

Dr. Daniel Grossman is an alumnus and respected local ophthalmologist. Dr. Grossman takes special interest in this scholarship established in his father's memory. His sister, Jill Grossman, has joined him in supporting this award. Premedical or preoptometry study and financial need are strong criteria.

Eligible:

Open to juniors who will be entering their final undergraduate year in the upcoming fall semester. Applicants must be premedical (or pre-optometry) majors who plan to attend medical school (or optometry school) after graduation. Graduating seniors cannot apply.

Criteria:

High GPA, financial need, demonstrated good citizenship.

Award:

Up to $5,000

Special Application Materials:

Submit all materials listed on the application instructions.

Indicate in your personal statement the medical schools (or optometry schools) to which you plan to apply.

A letter of support must be submitted separately by a faculty member.

Note:

The recipient is expected to let the department know when he/she has accepted a medical school (optometry school) offer so this information can be shared with the donor.
