In addition, the center provides a computerized career guidance program and various self-assessment inventories to aid students with career planning and selection. These instruments are available to all interested students, alumni, staff, and faculty.
The Career Center offers students and alumni assistance in obtaining full-time post-graduation employment. The center hosts companies conducting interviews on campus from September through November and January through March. Students interested in interviewing must register with the Career Center. Graduating seniors and recent alumni are eligible to establish a reference file, which may contain letters of recommendation, transcript(s), academic/clinical evaluations, and other supportive documents. The center also assists students in securing internships and co-ops related to academic objectives through the Professional Practice Program, as well as non-degreed jobs through the Student Employment Program. There are 100 medical clinics on campus, and Wishard Emergency Room is available during hours that clinics are closed.

There is a Smoking Cessation Program, the IU Nicotine Dependence Program, that treats nicotine-addicted individuals, combining behavioral, pharmacologic, and chemical dependence therapies. For more information, call the School of Dentistry, (317) 274-3859.

Health insurance is required and automatically provided for graduate students who are Fellowship recipients with semester funding over $2,233 and all student academic appointees (SAAs) at .375 FTE or higher. Students will be provided with insurance brochures by their academic department.

Health Insurance Programs
All undergraduates taking 6 or more credit hours and graduate students enrolled in 3 or more credit hours are eligible to participate in a voluntary student health insurance program. Health insurance is mandatory for all international students in F or J visa status, who automatically enrolled and billed for the insurance premium.
Adaptive Educational Services (AES)
IUPUI is committed to helping students with disabilities achieve their goals by augmenting their existing strengths and abilities. Adaptive Educational Services (AES) provides a range of services based on the documented needs of qualified students with disabilities that meet the requirements of the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. AES facilitates tests that require extended time, provides interpreters, maintains special equipment in the library, provides online software, coordinates financial support and service through Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation, assists in registration, provides note takers, works with faculty to make reasonable modifications of programs and courses for students with disabilities, upholds academic standards, and maintains legally appropriate confidentiality for students with disabilities. AES supports the Disability Awareness Council (DAC) and provides informational workshops around campus to increase the awareness of the ADA and the university’s responsibilities toward students with disabilities.

Office of International Affairs
Many international students come to IUPUI to study, and the campus offers numerous opportunities for resident students to involve themselves in clubs, housing, and programs with an international focus. The Office of International Affairs is responsible for many of these activities and serves as the office responsible for international students, faculty, and scholars coming to IUPUI.
