| As a result of this e-learning speaker's concern for building thinking and collaboration skills, a learner-centered philosophy guides all of Dr. Bonk's speaking, teaching and research activities. As an educationa speaker, professor Bonk believes that when instructors assist in learning, instead of merely assessing learning, students ability to learn will be significantly enhanced. Speaking to these student learning ideals, Dr. Bonk strives to find the most effective learning formats and environments. As a result of this, Professor Bonk experiments with ideas related to cooperative learning, constructivism, and computer conferencing in all his courses. As an E-Learning Speaker, Dr. Bonk is constantly using his research findings to tinker with his instructional practices, while concurrently reflecting on how his classroom practices can inform his research. Dr. Bonk's research on computer support for writing, Web-based instruction, electronic collaboration and conferencing, cooperative reading strategies, learner-centered instruction, and social interaction, essay and summary writing, and dialogue all have significant implications for learning and teaching in higher education. Professor Bonk's research involves graduate students at Indiana University and many international colleagues. The majority of these research efforts have been published in educational technology related books and journals. |
