Materials:
- Blank map(s) of the United States
- Colored pencils, crayons, or markers
What To Do:
- Look in nature books to find out the range of some of the different
trees eagles prefer to live in. To review, they are: Oak, Hemlock,
Poplar, Elm, Sycamore, and Lodgepole Pine trees.
- Shade in the area(s) in which these trees grow.
- Determine which areas on your map would be the most favorable for
an eagle to live in. For example, identify bodies of water that would
attract eagles and large towns/cities that an eagle would avoid.
- Discuss what other factors may influence where Bald Eagles nest.
