The Office of Overseas Study currently has overseas three study programs in Brazil: a Portuguese-langauge Liberal Arts program in Salvador da Bahia, an English-language Buisniess & Culture program in Sao Paulo, and a Portuguese-language Liberal Arts program in Sao Paulo.


Salvador da Bahia-CIEE Semester Program

Overview

Location Details: Atlantic coast city in northeastern Brazil; Unique, medium-sized urban environment with Afro-Brazilian customs and cultures

Upcoming Session Dates: Spring 2012 TBA

Dates: Mid-January to late June --OR--Late June to mid-December

Academic Program

The available coursework is particularly suited for, but not necessarily limited to, the following academic interests: Anthropology, Fine Arts-History, Communications, Economics, Geography, History, International Studies, Portuguese, Religious Studies, and Sociology.

Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program are not eligible.

Fall 2011

* Special discounted CIEE fee for IU students. Program qualifies for a limited number of automatic $1,000 scholarships from CIEE. Airfare, personal expenses and vacation travel additional.Initial prepayment of $500 due April 4, 2011 for fall; October for spring.

Spring 2011

* Special discounted CIEE fee for IU students. Program qualifies for a limited number of automatic $1,000 scholarships from CIEE. Airfare, personal expenses and vacation travel additional.Initial prepayment of $500 due in late October.

Sao Paulo-CIEE-Business and Culture KSB Semester Program

Overview

Location Details: Largest city in South America; Vibrant, multifaceted culture; Banking and financial center of Brazil; Home to numerous multi-national corporations

Program Eligibility
You may apply if you

Business majors must have completed (or will complete) E201, E202 and the Business Integrative Core (or equivalent coursework at an IU campus outside Bloomington).

Liberal Arts and Management Program (LAMP) students must have completed BUS K201 and ECON E201 and E202.
