Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology print friendly version

This program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET).

Mechanical engineering technology deals with the generation, transmission, and utilization of mechanical and fluid energy as well as with the design and production of tools and manufactured items.

Graduates of the program hold jobs as laboratory technicians, engineering aides, production assistants, and technical sales representatives. They may hold jobs in plant maintenance or in layout. With additional experience, promotion is possible to positions such as industrial supervisors, machine and tool designers, technical buyers, production expeditors, and cost estimators.
