Indiana University Business Diversity Program

Indiana University recognizes the value of a diverse supplier base and its impact on the business community and population at large. In recognition of this fact, Indiana University has developed a Business Diversity Program to ensure that it continues to creatively seek new supplier sources to fulfill the business opportunities at Indiana University and that minority, women, and small business owned firms are given the opportunity to compete for these business opportunities. Indiana University has created this program not only because it is the right thing to do, but because it makes good business and economic sense.

The IU Business Diversity Program will:

  • Provide a connecting link between MBE's, WBE's, SDB's and Indiana University
  • Provide outreach and educational programs to the minority business community
  • Engage in external activities geared toward identifying M/WBE's
  • Encourage alliances and partnerships between MBE's and other businesses
  • Advocate for small, minority and women owned business to be included in the procurement processes at IU
  • Share best practices between IU and other Higher Education Institutions
  • Assist small businesses with the certification process for state, federal, and local minority councils
