To promote multidisciplinary research on aging
To provide consultation, as well as continuing education and training,

sociological, and economic aspects of aging that affect the lives of

To maintain sensitivity to the needs of under served elders, including
those with developmental disabilities, minorities, and rural elders
To work to facilitate intergenerational understanding
To work to increase public awareness of the contributions, as well
as concerns, of older Americans
